Going Shopping? Don't forget your re-usable bag! Starting January 1, 2010, local and commercial businesses food and alcohol in Washington, DC will charge consumers 5 cents for disposable plastic or paper bags. All proceeds collected will support the Anacostia River Clean-up and Protection Fund, which will be used to remove trash.
